What you will do
For our NK Cell Technology research group, we are currently looking for student support at our Leipzig site. The team develops and investigates methods to make natural killer cells (NK cells) available as a therapeutic option for oncological diseases. Using state-of-the-art genetic engineering methods, the cells are enabled to identify and efficiently combat cancer cells.
As a student assistant, the following tasks await you:
* You ensure structure in the laboratory – from sample storage and maintenance of material and consumables lists to regular cleaning and organizational activities.
* You expand your know-how by taking on experimental work after appropriate training – e.g., plasmid purification, cell isolation, or comparable molecular biology methods.
What you bring to the table
* Enrollment as a student of biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related life science field
* Ideally, initial practical experience in cell culture and molecular biology experiments
* Good German or very good English skills, both spoken and written
* A collaborative, supportive, and well-structured working style characterized by conscientiousness and accuracy
* Availability in the Leipzig area for a longer period during your studies

This position is initially limited to six months. Weekly working hours are eight to nine hours per week within the scope of marginal employment.
