TheEuropean Logistics Manger for Leica Biosystemsis responsible for the on-time damage free deliveries for LeicaBiosystems product to customers throughoutEurope.
This position is partof the Global Logistics Organization located in Taunusstein Germanyand will be onsite. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is toadvance cancer diagnostics and improvelives.
You will be a part ofthe Global Logistics Organization and report to the Sr. Director ofGlobal Logistics responsible for receiving,distribution, transportation of Leica Biosystems goods throughoutEurope. Inthis role, you will have the importunityto:
* Manage the 3PLoperating the EU Distribution Center, ensuring timely delivery andaccurate product handling; ensure products aredelivered on time and handledcorrectly.
* Track and improvethe performance of carriers across Europe to ensure reliable andcost-effectivetransportation.
* Develop theEU distribution strategy in collaboration with Commercial andglobal transportation team; establish consistent shipping andhandling policies across Europe that comply with regulations andbest practices.
* Implementprograms to continuously reduce costs and improve servicequality.
Theessential requirements of the jobinclude:
* Bachelor'sdegree in logistics, supply chain management, businessadministration, or a related field.5+ years of experience inmanaging logistics operations within theEU
* Experience inmanaging European carriers including parcel, LTL and specializedhigh value instrumentcarriers
* Demonstratedknowledge of EU dangerous goods transportation; In-depthunderstanding of regulations and best practices for transportinghazardous materials within theEU.
* Excellent analyticalskills: ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informeddecisions to optimize logisticsoperations.
* Proficient inboth English and German, with strong communication skills in bothlanguages.
Travel,Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
* Ability to travel– 20% travel primarily EU, and limitedUS
