We're seeking a driven, self-motivated, sales-oriented, passionate, organized, and hungry-to-succeed Director of Business Development to join our amazing BD team!
As a BD Director, you will gain valuable knowledge and experience in the CRO, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries. Your role will focus on opening and expanding existing clients, driving new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets.
You will maintain the Salesforce.com database, ensuring all client meetings, RFP information, and updates are accurately captured and maintained, which is essential for the position.
The right candidate must:
* Speak fluent English and French.
* Have proven sales experience and be self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of facing challenges in a fast-paced industry.
Responsibilities include:
* Research target market sectors and contacts.
* Focus on acquiring new clients and expanding existing ones, especially in companies aligning with our expertise and goals.
* Achieve sales targets, client calls, and visits.
* Develop and execute sales plans.
* Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers.
* Understand decision-making processes within major sponsors.
* Share proposal, contract, and meeting information within the company.
* Develop relationships with leads to generate RFPs.
* Organize client meetings and congresses as needed.
* Establish contacts with operational departments.
* Represent Linical ethically and professionally.
* Follow the sales process to coordinate activities cross-functionally.
Proposal development includes:
* Collaborate with functional heads beyond proposal creation.
* Review drafts for strategy and pricing input.
* Support timely internal delivery of proposal information.
* Interact with clients to gather necessary information.
* Follow up during the CRO selection process.
Manage and lead the bid defense process:
* Draft the BDM slide deck and coordinate refinements.
* Gather sponsor information and organize meetings.
* Collaborate with presentation participants and rehearse as needed.
* Communicate regularly with clinical project teams to maximize repeat business and feedback.
* Support contract negotiations in collaboration with legal.
* Attend conferences and industry events.
Maintain Salesforce.com database:
* Update with leads, RFPs, proposals, emails, business plans, meetings, and calls.
* Ensure all client interactions and updates are accurately recorded.
Education and Qualifications:
* University degree in Natural Sciences, Medicine, Business, or equivalent experience with knowledge in clinical development, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries.
* Fluent in English and French; additional languages are a plus.
* Strong presentation and writing skills.
* At least 3 years of sales experience in any industry or comparable background.
* Experience in BD or sales within CRO or pharmaceutical sectors is highly advantageous.
