Opportunity Overview Payroll & Benefits Specialist (Tariffs/Regulations-aware) We are seeking a skilled Payroll & Benefits Specialist to manage and coordinate payroll and benefits processes for our German operations. This role requires expertise in German payroll, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and continuous process improvement. Responsibilities: Execute and coordinate monthly payroll for approximately 200 employees and 100 retirees with minimal supervision, and in collaboration with an external payroll provider. Maintain and verify all payroll-relevant data in HR systems and time-tracking tools. Administer and support employee benefits programs, including company pension schemes, bike leasing, non-cash benefits, and health benefits. Manage company car administration. Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, social security authorities, tax offices, and external service providers regarding payroll and benefits matters. Monitor and implement legal and regulatory changes in payroll tax, social security, and labor law, ensuring ongoing compliance. Calculate and provide personnel-related accruals (e.g., vacation, bonuses, anniversaries) for monthly and annual financial closing in close cooperation with the Finance department. Prepare reports, statistics, and mandatory filings for internal and external stakeholders (e.g., pension insurance, federal bank reporting). Support of internal and external audits (e.g., tax audits, social insurance audits, external auditors). Continuously improve and optimize payroll and benefits processes. Adhere to relevant tariff agreements and Betriebsvereinbarungen (works agreements) applicable to the company. All About You We seek individuals who share our passion and determination. Required Qualifications: Successfully completed commercial education with additional qualification in payroll/HR or a comparable qualification. Several years of professional experience in German payroll and benefits administration. Familiarity with IG Metall tariff structures and the ability to work within tariff-bound frameworks and works agreements In-depth knowledge of German income tax and social security regulations. Experience in the calculation and reconciliation of HR-related provisions is a plus. Proficient in payroll and time-tracking systems (e.g., DATEV, SAP SuccessFactors). Ability to work in a structured and accurate manner, with minimal supervision. High level of discretion, strong communication skills, and team orientation.
