RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
General
* Support Trader - Feedstocks & Oxyfuels on liaison with other business and manufacturing groups within LyondellBasell to ensure that company strategies and directives involving feedstocks are known and met.
* Handle all aspects of day-to-day physical cargo operations, effectively managing the full deal lifecycle from trade inception to completion of cargo discharge
* Ensuring smooth and timely handling of FOB/CFR/DAP operations including but not limited to vessel vetting for load port, discharge port and internal safety/vetting requirements, stowage planning according to feedstock procurement requirement, vessel itinerary update, issue voyage order, inspector nomination, LC handling, verifying billing and payment advices, operation risk controls, trouble shooting, dispute management with stakeholders and other related duties.
* Working closely with the Trader, updating on daily operational progresses and issues throughout lifecycle of deal, identifying potential operational issues and ensuring they are addressed and resolved timely before they materialize
* Maintaining accurate and up to date information for effective trade management and audit requirements
* Technically equipped with deep understanding of commercial trade terms to effectively prepare, execute and scrutinize commercial contracts for operational compliance and countering
* Technically equipped with working knowledge for handling demurrage calculation, claim negotiation and settlement
* Technically equipped with working knowledge to handle cargo documentations, ensuring timely and accurate handling of Letter of Credit requirements, submitting all operational documentations accurately within the required tight timeline
* Commercially minded with good situation awareness, having the ability to work under pressure and independently to resolve operation issues and disputes,, manage internal approval processes, audit walk through process and related queries
* Ensure proper documentation and timely system updates for, vessel and cargo operations, trade deal information updates including BL date and quantity actualization, cost accruals/actualization and payment tracking support
* Possess in-depth knowledge, technical understanding and experience in handling physical oil trading operations of clean products like LPG and Naphtha in aid to optimize operation process, reduce cost and delays
* Maintain good working relationship and liaise with all stakeholders including supplier, end receiver, broker, joint venture partner, trader, risk management team, treasury and back office team to ensure all operational and contractual obligations arising from cargo trade and vessel charter are fulfilled.
* Handle any ad-hoc assignments as and when required
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Education
• Bachelor degree or equivalent
Languages:
• Bilingual in both English and Chinese with good written and communication skills
Work Experience
* Commercially minded with at least 5-10 years of strong physical petroleum cargo operation experience with proven track record in delivering high value add to the bottom line of the book
* Strong team player who adopt a proactive approach to problem solving and seeking continuous improvements
* A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills and commercial sense to effectively build and maintain commercial relationships. Having the ability to send the message across clearly, engage in effective negotiations and constructive discussions with counterpart to independently resolve complex issues successfully will be critical.
* Possess good understanding of petroleum product characteristics and in-depth working knowledge of logistics operational procedures such as inspector appointment, issuing documentary instructions and voyage orders, cutting Bill of Lading, LC handling, demurrage claims management, contracts vetting and handling shipping documents
* Experience in physical cargo operation of LPG and Naphtha cargo is required
* Experience in SAP systems
* Possess good working knowledge of Maritime law
* Experience and confidence in dealing with commercial counterpart like shipowner, broker and trader
* Working beyond standard office working hours may be required depending on the course of business
Other skills
• Possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word,Excel, Powerpoint), SAP and CXL program
