Training as a cutting machine operator (M F D )
Start of training 01.09.2026
Cutting machine operator (m/f/d)
Cutting machine operators manufacture components for machines and engines, for example. To do this, they usually work with CNC lathes, milling and grinding machines. They enter the production parameters into the machines or retrieve programs from the machine memory and modify them if necessary. They then select the tools, clamp the metal blanks, align them and start up the machines. They monitor the machining processes, remove the finished workpieces and check whether the dimensions and surface quality meet the specifications. In the event of faults, they the cause and rectify the problem according to established test procedures. Regular inspection and maintenance of the machines is also one of their tasks.
You can look forward to a thoroughly varied daily routine. After the basic training in the training workshop together with the other apprentices, your job-specific training as a cutting machine operator begins. In the beginning, you will learn the basics of milling and turning using simple components on conventional machines, before going on to independently program and manufacture more complex workpieces on our state-of-the-art CNC machines.
During your apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to get to know various areas of the company, such as CNC production, quality management and tool presetting, where you will get to know the tools properly and measure them. Your tasks will also include the independent planning and execution of projects. Your area of work will include both individual part production and series production at our company! Our trainers will accompany and support you throughout your apprenticeship.
