Application and Service Engineer
(Additive Manufacturing / Industrial 3D Printing)
As an Application and Service Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and expanding the company's overseas business. Based in Stuttgart, Germany, and reporting directly to the Head of Overseas Technical Support, you will be responsible for after-sales service and application support for industrial 3D printing systems.
After-Sales Technical Support
Installation, commissioning, and final acceptance of industrial-grade 3D printing systems of UnionTech (current focus: SLA, SLM) at customer sites.
Execution of existing service and maintenance contracts, including regular on-site preventive maintenance to ensure long-term system reliability and customer satisfaction.
Technical training for machine operators, covering machine operation, safety regulations, and basic maintenance, ensuring compliant, safe, and efficient system use.
Coordination with internal and external parties to resolve technical issues.
Remote technical support and troubleshooting.
Creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of technical documentation, training materials, and operating manuals.
Application & Pre-Sales Technical Support
Technical support for pre-sales application consulting in cooperation with global sales teams and local partners.
Sample part production, process validation, feasibility studies, and application evaluation based on customer requirements, up to final delivery
Technical training for end customers and distributors, covering systems, materials, applications, and best practices.
Maintaining and operating the demo centre in Stuttgart, Germany
Background & Experience
3–5 years of professional experience in 3D printing, additive manufacturing, or industrial equipment as an Application Engineer, Service Engineer, or Technical Support Engineer.
Hands-on experience with industrial 3D printing systems, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and application support.
Solid understanding of additive manufacturing processes, material properties, and typical industrial applications.
Experience working in cross-cultural teams is an advantage.
English as working language. German or other European languages are beneficial, Chinese beneficial.
Strong communication and presentation skills, particularly for technical training and customer-facing activities.
Willingness to travel within Europe and globally.
