ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Head of Finance to shape and strengthen our finance and controlling function in a dynamic, international environment. You will play a key role in driving financial strategy, ensuring robust governance, and supporting strategic decisions across the business – including budgeting, forecasting, and key projects related to growth and corporate development.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead all finance operations: accounting, budgeting, forecasting, controlling, and reporting.
2. Develop and execute financial strategy to support growth and profitability.
3. Ensure compliance with HGB (German GAAP); IFRS experience preferred.
4. Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, investors, and banks.
5. Support fundraising, equity/debt financing, and M&A activities.
6. Optimize cash flow, working capital, and capital allocation.
7. Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and systems, leveraging automation and AI-driven tools to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reporting quality.
8. Build and mentor a high-performing finance team.
9. Prepare clear, actionable board and investor reports.
10. Provide data-driven insights to guide business decisions across products, markets, and business units. Partner closely with business leaders to ensure financial clarity, accountability, and smart growth decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS
11. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
12. Professional qualification (Steuerberater, CPA, ACCA) a plus.
13. 10+ years in finance, including 3–5 years in a senior leadership role, ideally in a startup/scale-up.
14. Proven experience in fundraising, M&A, and investor relations.
15. Strong knowledge of HGB; IFRS a plus.
16. Hands-on experience with financial automation and modern SaaS finance tools (e.g., Spendesk, Pigment, Ramp).
17. Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.
18. Fluent in German and English; excellent communication skills.
19. Proactive, high integrity, thrives in fast-moving environments.
