Our client in the banking sector is looking for a Business planning officer to support strategic planning, performance monitoring, and corporate reporting.
Responsibilities :
* Corporate Operational Planning (COP): With the support of the Head of the Business Planning Unit, drive the end-to-end preparation of the three-year Corporate Operational Plan, coordinating inputs from various business lines and ensuring alignment with Group strategic priorities and sustainability objectives.
* Performance Monitoring and Steering: Conduct continuous monitoring and analysis of operational performance against the annual plan, identifying deviations and contributing to steering proposals to ensure corporate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
* Strategic Analysis and Reporting: Serve as a key analytical resource, preparing detailed data analyses, reports, and presentations for senior management, Group counterparts, and external stakeholders to support strategic decision-making. Present and communicate findings as well as ad-hoc high-quality reports related to solutions, trends, and recommendations.
* Capital Planning Process: Translate business planning to a capital plan by leading an efficient and thorough corporate planning process.
* Maintaining dashboards: Responsible for updating and maintaining information in business planning tools (in Tableau and Excel, amongst others software products).
Qualifications :
* University qualification, preferably at postgraduate level, in Business Management, Economics and Social Sciences, Finance, Maths or Data Science applied to economics, or related subject. Additional professional or academic qualifications (i.e. CFA, ACCA, FRM, Ph.D.) would be considered an asset.
* At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in a similar position and with a similar level of responsibilities in Strategy/Advisory/Consultancy services firms, the financial services industry, and EU Institutions or other MDBs, preferably exposed to business and final planning, portfolio management and monitoring.
* Solid skills in quantitative/qualitative modelling and business assessment methodologies are required.
* Strong experience utilising software tools (Excel, Tableau, Alteryx) to effectively present graphs, reports, and dashboards.
* Analytical and numerical skills to aid in ensuring initiatives are properly documented to aid prioritisation and for the analysis of reports and data relating to activity monitoring and KPIs.
* Good understanding of operational processes and procedures of a financial or asset management institution.
* Ability to comprehend business issues and develop coherent & comprehensive business solutions.
* Good analytical skills, knowledge of financial analysis, strong written communication skills as well as experience in investment/risk assessment.
* Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other EU languages would be considered an asset.
