You can balance hands-on technical knowledge with strategic vision, and you know how to get the best out of diverse, high-performing teams.You’ll thrive here if you are:Experienced in managingdirect reportsand building strong technical leadership capability.Comfortable guiding bothLinux and Windows environmentsin secure, complex settings.Skilled inCloud strategy, DevOps, and automationwith tools like Terraform and Ansible.Confident communicating technical concepts tonon-technical stakeholders.Naturally collaborative, but also decisive and self-sufficient when needed.About The Team:You’ll join ourTechnical Platform function, reporting directly to the CTO. The team spansCloud, Wintel, Platform, and Technical Product Ownershipand you’ll directly leada team of 5Key projects ahead includeon-premise cloud transformation, European expansion, and new data centre build-outs. You’ll work closely with our engineering, security, and operations teams, ensuring alignment across functions and delivering at pace.About The Role:We’re looking for an experienced and strategicTechnical Platform Directorto lead our Cloud and Wintel teams and shape the future of our private cloud infrastructure. Reporting directly to the CTO, you’ll manage5 direct reportsand act as the central escalation point across Cloud, Platform, and Technical Product Ownership, freeing up the CTO to focus on wider strategy.This is a senior leadership role with genuine impact: you’ll set direction, guide teams, and ensure our infrastructure is secure, scalable, and ready for the next stage of our growth, both in the UK and internationally.Key Responsibilities:Leadership & People– Manage and develop 5 direct reports, set clear objectives, and foster a culture of accountability, learning, and innovation.Cloud Infrastructure– Architect, implement, and optimise our secure private cloud, ensuring high standards of performance, security, and scalability.Linux & Wintel Management– Oversee stability, performance, and security across both Linux and Windows systems.Virtualisation & Containerisation– Drive adoption of KVM, Kubernetes, and OKD with a container-first approach.Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement– Act as the escalation point across technical teams, ensuring priorities align with business objectives.Innovation & Continuous Improvement– Bring in new ideas and emerging tech to keep our platform secure, scalable, and cost-efficient.Success in This Role Looks LikeAble to deliver aresilient, stable platformwith reduced CTO-level escalations.Built a clear technical roadmap forCloud, Wintel, and Product Ownership.Embedded a strong, cohesive culture across your teamEnabled infrastructure that supportsnew product launches and international growth.Why Join Us?Lead a high-profile function with5 direct reportsand direct visibility at CTO level.Own and deliverstrategic programmesincluding European expansion and new data centre builds.Be part of a growing, forward-thinking tech group working inCloud, Data, AI, and Platform technologies.Competitive salary, bonus potential, and benefits.Remote-first role, with just one day per month in our Liverpool HQ for collaboration.RequirementsWhat We're Looking For:8+ years’ IT infrastructure leadership, with strong experience acrossCloud, Linux, and Wintel.Proven people leadership, managingdirect reports in technical teams.Deep expertise inLinux administration(Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).Strong knowledge ofWindows Server, Active Directory, RDS, and VDI solutions.Hands-on experience withprivate cloud, KVM, Kubernetes, OKD, and automation (Terraform, Ansible).Familiarity withsecurity and compliance standards(Cyber Essentials, IASME, CCSK, etc).Excellent communicator who can bridge technical and business priorities.Security Clearance RequirementsPlease note that holding current SC clearance is not essential at the point of application, but eligibility is required.This role requires the successful candidate to be eligible forSecurity Check (SC) clearance.
