Corporate M&A manages 150–200 transactions per year across all PHOENIX countries and leads several corporate projects spanning different business models. This Position focuses on pharmacy transactions in 17 retail countries. To handle this volume, the team develops tools, best practices and valuation models, makes recommendations to the Board, conducts M&A reporting and transaction monitoring, and acts as the central coordination point for countries, Corporate functions and the Board.
This position can be filled at one of our locations in Germany, the Netherlands, or France.
Your Tasks
1. Direct country responsibility for 5–9 countries (including more complex ones). You are responsible for all transaction types.
2. Review proposals, ensure correctness and valuation attractiveness, finalize proposals, prepare summaries and recommendations, monitor post-transaction performance, coach countries and support non-standard cases.
3. Internal responsibilities (e.g., developing tools & best practices, organizing and leading team meetings).
4. Scope (countries, volume, complexity) increases with seniority.
Your Profile
5. University degree in a relevant field; legal or pharmaceutical knowledge beneficial but not required.
6. Minimum 4 years of M&A experience, ideally in Corporate M&A, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Transaction Advisory, including valuation and financial modelling expertise.
7. Strong project management capabilities, with experience managing complex, cross‑functional, and international deal processes.
8. Excellent communication skills with fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across cultures.
9. Independent, analytical thinker able to deep‑dive into details while maintaining a strategic, big‑picture perspective; comfortable giving and receiving feedback.
10. Willingness to travel internationally team meetings for projects, workshops, etc. However, the role is for a larger part Remote.
