* Manage conducting carrier bids, analyze rates and carrier selections and make decisions on awards while remaining compliant with the overall sourcing strategy.
* Maintaining and developing the supplier base. Finding new suppliers as well as terminating cooperation with existing suppliers.
* Analyze historical data and freight pay data to ascertain changes, anomalies or new opportunities within the network.
* Cooperate with other functions to ensure overall targets are met.
* Compile and interpret carrier performance metrics for meetings with carriers and address and resolve carrier-related issues in cooperation with local freight forwarders in the shipping units.
* Ensure department records are maintained in accordance with established policies, procedures and audit guidelines.
* Support in various Logistics investigations like outsourcing and/or changing of logistical foot print.
* Monitor and analyse freight market trends, capacity developments, rate and fuel fluctuations and regulatory changes to support data-driven decisions, ensure cost competitiveness and proactively manage transport risks.
* Utilize analytical tools and systems such as freight tendering platforms, Transport Management Systems, freight invoice validation tools etc. to drive cost efficiency, ensure data accuracy and compliance and support continuous improvements.
* Bachelor or professional degree
* Some years of experience in strategic sourcing
* Experience of international freight with solid understanding of transport modes, incoterms, rate structures, customs duties, and cross-border regulations
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret freight costs and Key Performance Indicators to identify risks and drive continuous improvements
* Strong negotiation and communication skills, combined with solid commercial acumen, to manage sourcing activities and supplier relationships across diverse markets in a multi-country transport environment
* Good MS office skills
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
