This project aims to sensitively shift perceptions around obesity and type 2 diabetes, challenging long-standing stigma and stereotypes. We want to show real people living real lives — not clichés. The visual language will reflect a journey of emotions: moments of exclusion and prejudice, but also hope, confidence, joy, and optimism, highlighting how medical support and professional care can be an important first step.
The project will be photographed and filmed in a documentary style, with great attention to detail and a compassionate, respectful lens by a female documentary photographer (Julia Selmmann).
While the background of the project relates to a medical treatment, no pharmaceutical product will be directly advertised. The focus is on awareness, empathy, and encouraging people to seek medical advice.
