Our client is a consumer-focused Private Equity fund that invests across Europe in leading consumer brands across foodservice, retail, and consumer goods. They pursue both growth and buyout opportunities, deploying tickets of up to €200 million per investment, and their long-term approach is enabled by a unique flexible model that allows them to operate as true hands-on partners, capturing the full potential of value creation by aligning each investment's time horizon with the nature of the asset and its specific investment thesis.
We are ideally seeking a Management Consultant who is eager to transition to the buy-side to initially support one of their portfolio companies - a pan-European restaurant chain with over 350 locations - and subsequently focus on executing new investments. The value creation plan is currently being refined, and they are looking for a dedicated professional to drive on-site execution and implementation, serving as a key link between the investment team, the company's C-suite, and middle management. The role will cover global operational improvement initiatives as well as the development and execution of growth strategies. Long term, the role will enable the investment firm to strengthen their presence in the DACH region and the appointed individual will switch to full-time investment role.
What the job involves
* Support portfolio company's management team in defining and executing growth and transformation initiatives
* Building and monitoring KPIs and reporting frameworks
* Designing strategy roadmaps and supporting operational excellence
* Driving productivity and performance improvement initiatives
* Preparing internal and investor presentations, and supporting governance processes
* Monitor portfolio company performance and identify opportunities for value creation and bolt-on acquisitions
* Manage investment deal flow in the DACH region, from sourcing and initial evaluation to supporting execution
Who we are looking for
* Relevant experience in management consulting or PE, ideally with exposure to consumer-facing businesses
* Strong operational skill set: strategy, reporting, performance management, and transformation projects
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in both investment and operational contexts
* Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus
* Role can be based in Hamburg or remote
