About the Role:
We are looking for an ambitious and hands-on Financial Controller to join a high-growth real estate investment and asset management firm based in Berlin. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with both the CFO and the Managing Director, acting as a trusted sparring partner on all financial matters. You’ll play a central role in shaping the finance function and laying the groundwork for a high-performing finance team as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the right hand to the CFO, supporting strategic financial planning, reporting, and decision-making.
Partner directly with the Managing Director on investment and operational finance topics.
Lead and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process under HGB (and potentially IFRS).
Build out scalable financial processes and internal controls across the organisation.
Prepare management reports, business KPIs, and financial models to support growth and investor reporting.
Monitor cash flows, budgets, and forecasts across the firm's real estate assets and holding structures.
Coordinate with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and financing partners.
Take ownership of financial systems, tools, and data integrity as the company grows.
Act as the foundational hire around whom a high-performing finance team will be built.
Your Profile:
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, or similar.
Experience in real estate or private equity exposure preferred.
Solid knowledge of HGB; IFRS is a plus.
Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with BI or ERP systems is advantageous.
Independent, structured, and driven to build things from scratch.
Fluent German (C1+) and strong English (B2+ or higher).
Strong communication skills and a hands-on, ownership-driven mindset.
