People & Culture Operations Director, Global Supply Chain (GSC)
THE ROLE
This position is the local People & Culture Operations Director, Global Supply Chain with responsibility for providing first line support to the GSC business unit, based in Trier, Germany (employee population of approximately 1,200). The position is the first point contact for the relevant local social partners in relation to all operational matters and supports the P&C Director Germany in developing and maintaining positive and proactive relationships with the general works council, local works council, union, and the national employer association.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for the operational management of all P&C related issues for the GSC function population. This includes providing first line support and guidance to line managers and employees to ensure the effective delivery of all P&C policies, processes, and initiatives in accordance with local and global company standards, local social partner agreements and labour laws.
* Manage the implementation of first-class local talent attraction and talent management processes ensuring strong and sustained people development, succession, and career management to contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the business.
* Drive, execute, and champion corporate and local diversity and inclusion initiatives. Focus on executing a strategy that builds and supports a diverse workforce, enables an inclusive culture, and creates an environment where differences are embraced to contribute positively towards enhancing the company’s reputation as an employer of choice in Germany and globally.
* Manage the relevant local social partners on all operational matters and in accordance with the strategic objectives developed for the Company. This includes executing local and global initiatives, building strong and positive working relationships with various social partners through open and transparent communication, consultation, and negotiation as appropriate.
* Function as an ambassador and change agent on the ground for all global and local initiatives. Support the business in adapting to new requirements and by actively shaping our culture for the future.
People management
* Lead, motivate and act as a mentor to a team of approx. 10 HR professionals, providing them with the appropriate environment focused on their mental and physical well-being, personal and professional development to allow them to grow as individuals and consistently deliver performance excellence.
Other
* Manage various ad-hoc tasks and initiatives and contribute to projects as relevant and required by the business.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
* University degree with focus on people management (e.g. MBA, Psychology, Labor Law).
* Business practice and leadership experience in a P&C role in an international environment, preferably in FMCG or in another manufacturing/producing industry.
* Ideally experience with Integrated Working Systems (IWS) and its integration/implementation or other smart manufacturing tools.
* Experience in negotiating with work councils and unions.
SKILLS
* Fluency in English and German is a must.
* Cross-cultural competence, strong analytic and conceptual skills, excellent negotiation, and relationship building skills and excellent communication skills and high personal integrity.
