Beyond Good And Evil 2 is an action-adventure sci-fi RPG set in the same universe as Ubisoft’s original cult classic. Join our crew at Ubisoft Mainz to help shape this exciting project with cutting-edge graphics.
As a Technical Director, you will oversee the Tech-Art, Engine, UI, Tools, and Graphics Programming Teams in a co-development environment. Your main responsibility is to guide these teams towards a coherent technical vision.
You will serve as the primary contact for our partners in other studios, regularly interacting with other directors to align on vision and technical direction. You will maintain the big picture perspective and ensure team alignment with the vision.
You will advocate for your teams, mentor future leads, and foster an environment of autonomy and coaching.
What you will do:
* Mentor programming and technical art teams, developing new leads and enabling team autonomy
* Collaborate with directors and producers to align high-level visions
* Establish guidelines for technical implementation
* Contribute to studio strategic initiatives such as recruitment, investment, portfolio development, training, and R&D
* Ensure timely delivery of game components with high quality across all target platforms
* Define team requirements and technical constraints to realize the creative vision
Qualifications:

* Knowledge of current industry trends and technologies in game programming
* Strategic thinking with the ability to challenge and define the future
* Comfort with risk-taking in complex environments
* Ambition for high quality, with leadership that balances consideration and assertiveness
* Hands-on experience in gameplay, AI, engine, rendering, tools, online, audio, physics
* Deep understanding of related domains like game design, art, animation, production
* Ideally, knowledge of procedural generation techniques
* Experience shipping multiple games
