Due to continued expansion within the European data centre sector, they are now seeking a Senior Health & Safety Officer to join a large-scale data centre development in Frankfurt, Germany. This position offers a clear progression route into a Regional European Health & Safety Manager role as the business continues to expand across multiple countries. The company is specifically looking for someone who is ready to take the next step in their health and safety career and develop into a leadership position overseeing multiple European projects. The Role: Senior Health & Safety Officer Based on a major data centre project in Frankfurt, you will report directly to the Health & Safety Director and play a key role in driving safety standards across a busy construction environment. You will work closely with project management teams, subcontractors, site supervisors and client representatives to ensure compliance, promote a positive safety culture and maintain the highest standards of health and safety performance throughout the project lifecycle. This Senior Health & Safety Officer position offers exposure to one of Europe's fastest-growing construction sectors and provides a structured pathway towards a Regional European Health & Safety Management role. Must Have Requirements Must have 5 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or civil engineering Experience on large-scale construction projects is required Relevant Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH, Diploma, Degree or equivalent Proven experience carrying out site inspections, audits and incident investigations Full driving licence required Preferred Experience Data centre experience preferred Experience working for a main contractor or specialist subcontractor European project experience beneficial Strong understanding of Irish and European health and safety legislation Experience mentoring junior safety professionals Nice to Have Chartered or working towards professional membership Temporary works awareness training Construction management qualification Additional environmental or quality certifications Key Responsibilities Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the project Carry out regular site inspections and safety audits Ensure compliance with project-specific Health & Safety plans Monitor subcontractor performance and safety compliance Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and inductions Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances Prepare reports and safety documentation for senior management Support project teams in achieving programme milestones safely Liaise with client representatives and external stakeholders on safety matters Assist with the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives About You You will be an ambitious Health & Safety professional who enjoys working in challenging construction environments and wants to progress beyond a traditional site-based role. You will have strong communication skills, confidence engaging with site teams and management, and the ability to influence positive behaviours across a large project team. This role will particularly suit a Senior Health & Safety Officer looking to move towards Health & Safety Management and gain valuable experience on major European data centre projects. Rotation & Travel This role operates on a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation. • Monday Week 1: Travel day, arrive on site approximately 1pm • Saturday Week 1: Half day working • Sunday Week 1: Day off • Monday to Wednesday Week 2: Full working days • Thursday Week 2: Return flight home late morning • Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Home leave All flights, accommodation, vehicle and fuel are fully provided by the company.
