We are looking for a Process Engineer to support and improve plasma-based semiconductor manufacturing processes (PVD, CVD and Etch applications). This role ensures stable operations, quality control, and continuous improvement across wafer production.
About the job:
As a Process Engineer at our Dortmund site, you will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing plasma processes in wafer fabrication. Your daily tasks will include cleanroom activities like evaluating suspect material, handling rejections, and following OCAP procedures. You will also support process development by preparing and running experiments.
Project work is a key part of the role — from implementing improvements and conducting FMEAs and FVMs to qualifying new tools and integrating them into production. You’ll also train operators, evaluate data using SPC/FDC tools, and take part in continuous improvement efforts.
Your main tasks:
1. Monitor, maintain, and optimize plasma processes in wafer manufacturing
2. Evaluate process issues and lead root cause analysis (FVMs, FMEAs)
3. Train and instruct operators in cleanroom procedures
4. Prepare and run process development experiments
5. Drive cost, quality, and productivity improvement projects (CIP)
6. Support equipment installation, integration, and qualification
7. Use SPC and FDC tools to control and analyze process data
8. Work closely with cross-functional teams across production and engineering
About you:
9. Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in electronics, physics, microsystems technology, or a similar field
10. Some experience in semiconductor manufacturing is preferred, but not required
11. Knowledge of process control tools like SPC, APC, and FDC
12. Understanding of cleanroom procedures and basic failure analysis
13. Hands-on, structured approach to problem-solving
14. Team-oriented, dependable, and able to work independently
15. Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written
