Intern in optical AIT (m/f/d)
Your Tasks
Support us to bring our optical space instruments to full performance in our Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) department!
1. accompany optical alignment and tests of entire space instruments or subsystems ( telescopes, spectrometers, etc.)
2. learn about AIT planning, requirements engineering and optical system design of complex aerospace Systems
3. Support the characterization and alignment of parts and sub-systems using laser tracker, theodolites and coordinate measurement machine
4. Define and build own small optical setups ( for wavefront characterization)
5. Learn how to set up technical budgets
6. Cooperate with other disciplines in a diverse multinational team of specialists (mechanical, electrical, design, management, performance, logistics, …)
7. learn how to work in ISO5 and ISO8 cleanrooms and visit external satellite test facilities
8. support planning and documentation of detailed processes for the cleanroom activities
9. Analyze and present measurement results to the team
Your Qualifications
10. Student in Technical Optics, Physics, Space Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
11. Basic knowledge about Optics & optical metrology is desired (wavefront measurements, light sources, lasers, detectors, imaging systems, lenses, mirrors, radiometry)
12. Understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
13. Skills in numerical data handling & analysis or scripted automatization of measurement setups (especially in Python or Matlab) are beneficial
14. Experience with high-precision positioning systems (hexapods, stages etc.) is welcome
