About the Role
We’re partnering with a leading pharmaceutical business, backed by a top-tier PE investor, to appoint a high-calibre Head of Group Controlling. As the business scales globally and accelerates operational investments, this role will be central to financial transformation, reporting excellence, and strategic value creation.
The role will work in close partnership with the management, providing financial insights that support strategic decision-making and operational excellence. As they prepare for a potential Private Equity transaction - whether via IPO or PE exit - this position will play a critical role in steering the organization through a transformational phase.
This is a unique opportunity for a high-impact leader with strong commercial acumen, change agility, and the ambition to be a potential successor to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Group Controlling function across all global entities, ensuring consistent and transparent financial management.
* Partner with the management to provide strategic financial insights and performance analysis.
* Drive financial transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency, data integrity, and business partnering across the group.
* Oversee all aspects of planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management.
* Support and drive Private Equity exit readiness, including due diligence, valuation, and transaction support (IPO or trade sale).
* Build and mentor a high-performing, change-ready team globally.
* Serve as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders and the Board providing clear, actionable insights.
* Act as a change leader, fostering agility, accountability, and collaboration throughout the finance organization.
* Contribute to strategic initiatives and long-term financial planning as a key member of the leadership team.
Qualifications & Experience
* MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Finance, Business, or Economics.
* Minimum 12-15 years of experience in Controlling, FP&A, or Finance leadership roles.
* Background in a large multinational and/or Private Equity-backed organization (no PE experience is acceptable)
* Proven track record of driving financial transformation, delivering measurable impact, and leading change in complex environments.
* Exposure to M&A or exit processes (IPO, trade sale, or PE transactions).
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence presenting to Boards and investors.
* Strong leadership capabilities with a demonstrated ability to develop talent, inspire teams, and influence at all levels.
* High mental agility, adaptability, and resilience in fast-paced, evolving contexts.
