We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of LLM-enhanced in-vehicle personal assistants. With recent advances in multimodal LLMs, there are new opportunities for natural Human-AI interaction, enabling interactions with image modality context enhancement. This internship aims to investigate how multimodal LLMs (MLLMs) can be utilized to improve the in-car user experience.
What awaits you?
1. Engage in core development activities using Python, incorporating LLM libraries and Pydantic.
2. Contribute to the platform across multiple programming languages and frameworks, including Android Automotive, Azure Pub/Sub, and various internal APIs, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
3. Solve complex problems and devise innovative solutions to enhance the MLLM capabilities of our in-vehicle personal assistant.
4. Plan and help execute user studies with MLLM-based Prototypes
What should you bring along?
5. Studies in computer science, media informatics or a related field.
6. Strong proficiency in Python.
7. Knowledge and experience with Azure or other cloud platform deployments integrating with CI/CD tools like Git.
8. Experience in developing LLMs; experience with MLLMs is a plus.
9. Experience with user-centered development and conducting user studies, ideally in the field of voice user interfaces.
10. Ability to work collaboratively in a research and development team, contributing innovative ideas.
11. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required, and proficiency in German is a plus.
