Head of Laboratory - Cardiovascular Diseases

Are you passionate about discovering drugs for treating cardiovascular disease?
We are looking for experienced scientists to lead a small team of research assistants, and to collaborate with skilled experts to convert innovative ideas into potential drugs.
We are looking for someone with a PhD and post study work experience leading a small team. You must also have extensive experience working with cardiomyocytes cultures, as you will be acting as the disease area specialist within the team.
Responsibilities
* Lead a pharmacology lab with several talented members
* Lead scientifically, to identify and validate novel therapeutic starting points for treatments of cardiovascular diseases
* Establish cutting edge methods and technologies for innovative drug discovery
* Lead by example, to lead drug discovery projects in a matrix environment. Productively collaborating across disciplines including medicinal chemistry, biologics development, and other drug discovery supporting functions.
* Collaborate both internally and externally to improve the company’s research
* You will be responsible for extended late-stage projects.
* Contribute to the science in cardiovascular disease by publishing papers and presenting at conferences.
Requirements
* PhD in biology, biochemistry, molecular pharmacology or similar
* MUST have extensive experience working in cardiovascular biology
* Extensive, hands on experience working with Cardiomyocytes cultures
* Demonstrated track record of publications in scientific journal
* Fluency in English spoken and written; German is a plus
* On a personal level, must be humble, hardworking, driven, and pro-active.
