Field Service Technician - Medical Devices
Region: Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Lorraine & Alsace
Our client is an innovative, international manufacturer of state‑of‑the‑art medical devices used by optometrists, ophthalmologists, and optical retailers worldwide.
We are recruiting a motivated Field Service Technician to support customers across a defined territory covering regions in both Germany and France .
Responsibilities:
* Provide hands‑on and remote technical support to optical customers across Saarland, Rhineland‑Palatinate, Alsace, Lorraine, and nearby areas.
* Install equipment, set up systems, and deliver practical training to ensure customers can confidently operate all solutions.
* Deliver reliable maintenance, troubleshooting, and workshop support across the full product range.
* Build strong customer relationships by ensuring fast issue resolution and consistently high service quality.
* Introduce customers to the broader product portfolio, helping them understand the added value beyond the devices they already use.
* Work closely with service, sales, marketing, and product teams to resolve complex issues and remove operational barriers.
* Capture customer feedback and emerging needs, contributing to the development of improved tools, training materials, and solutions.
* Continue to deepen your product knowledge through structured onboarding and ongoing self‑directed learning supported by the team.
Your Profile:
* Fluent communication skills in either German or French, with the ability to operate comfortably in the second language (B1 level or above).
* Based in Saarland, Rhineland‑Palatinate, or Alsace, ideally within easy reach of the customer region.
* Strong organisational habits, able to plan effectively, prioritise, and manage several tasks simultaneously.
* Previous exposure to field‑based service work or a comparable customer‑facing technical role.
* Solid technical aptitude and the ability to learn new technologies quickly through hands‑on experience.
* A collaborative mindset - you enjoy working with colleagues and sharing insights to strengthen the team.
* Completed technical vocational training or equivalent qualification.
* Comfortable using digital tools and common software applications (e.g., Office, CRM systems).
* Able to handle busy periods and maintain performance under pressure.
* Experience or familiarity with optical equipment is a plus, but not essential.
