Position: Head of Intellectual Property (IP) Mechanics Tires
You will lead the IP Tires Mechanics team and contribute to shaping our Tires IP and R&D strategies to achieve our goals. Reporting directly to the Head of IP Tires, your main responsibilities include:
1. Patent Management: Developing and deploying the Tires Mechanics IP strategy, managing patent applications including drafting, filing, and prosecuting patents to protect innovations in Mechanics, Electronics, and Digital Solutions.
2. Copyright Management: Overseeing protection of original works such as technical drawings, software (including open source), and documentation.
3. Trade Secret Protection: Implementing measures to safeguard confidential information and proprietary processes.
4. IP Litigation and Enforcement: Managing legal actions to enforce IP rights and defend against infringement claims.
5. IP Licensing and Contracts: Negotiating and concluding license agreements and other IP-related contracts.
6. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring adherence to IP laws and managing associated risks.
7. Inventor Remuneration: Managing the process and calculations for inventor remuneration.
8. IP Education and Training: Providing training and resources on IP best practices.
9. Team Leadership: Motivating, developing, and growing the team, and steering talent development.
10. Budget Responsibility: Managing the budget for the IP Mechanics department.
Qualifications:
* Degree in engineering, natural sciences, or law, with patent attorney qualification (e.g., Germany EPO or equivalent).
* Extensive knowledge and experience in patent law, processes, and authorities across relevant countries.
* Broad experience managing IP in a global technology and manufacturing environment.
* International and cross-functional experience is advantageous.
* Strong negotiation, contracting, and consulting skills, with a collaborative approach.
* Experience with IP software solutions is preferred.
* Fluent in Business English and German.
* Strong business orientation and execution drive.
* Passion for new technologies.
