For more information on Dexter Magnetic Technologies, please visit: https://www.dextermag.com/ Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position: The Technical Project Lead is responsible for driving engineering projects for custom magnetic solutions across Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Semiconductor and Energy industries. The role translates customer requirements into technically feasible and manufacturable concepts while coordinating cross-functional collaboration between Engineering, Operations, Sales and global teams. This position ensures structured execution of development projects from feasibility phase through industrialization and series release, supporting the strategic build-up of Dexter GmbH/PERMAG’s European engineering capability. Working closely with U.S. engineering experts, the Technical Project Lead contributes to knowledge transfer, engineering standards and the establishment of a scalable engineering organization in Europe. Major Responsibilities : Capture, clarify and assess customer technical requirements in collaboration with Sales, Operations and global Engineering teams. Develop engineering concepts for permanent magnets and magnetic assemblies considering manufacturability, cost and performance targets. Plan, structure and lead technical development projects from concept phase through validation and release to production. Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain. Prepare engineering effort estimations and support quotation processes together with Sales. Act as the primary technical interface towards international customers during project execution. Drive technical risk assessments, feasibility analysis and design reviews. Support technology transfer between U.S. and European engineering teams. Contribute to the development of engineering standards, documentation practices and technical knowledge base. Support the long-term build-up of the European engineering team and mentor junior engineers when required. Responsibilities may evolve in line with business needs, within the scope of this role. Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or equivalent technical field. Minimum 5 years of experience in technical product development, project engineering or industrial R&D. Experience in managing technical projects in manufacturing environments. Exposure to precision components, assemblies or magnetic systems is advantageous. Experience working with international teams and customers is preferred. Technical Skills: Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and physical principles. Experience with engineering project management tools (e.g., MS Project or similar). Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tolerance requirements. Understanding of design-to-manufacture principles and cost-driven engineering. Familiarity with CAD systems and engineering documentation processes is beneficial. Language Skills: German (B2–C1), English (B2–C1)
