Job Description Overview. We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Digital Solutions Architect to support delivery of secure, high-profile smart building solutions for clients across Germany. Working closely with FPC’s technical leadership, the successful candidate will take ownership of system integration architecture, cybersecurity coordination and platform deployment for a major global real estate client. This is a client facing role requiring fluent German and English, with strong technical grounding in smart building platforms, secure data integration and stakeholder management. This role also offers a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping FPC’s digital solutions offering across Germany and support business development initiatives in the region. Based in Germany, ideally in Düsseldorf, Munich, or other major hub with good access to client sites in Düsseldorf. Key Responsibilities. System Architecture & Integration Design. Lead the technical design and documentation of the Independent Data Layer (IDL), enabling secure, scalable integration of systems including BMS, lighting, HVAC, metering and controls. Define IP schema, network zoning and interface boundaries, ensuring vendor-neutral design principles are applied throughout. Coordinate the development and review of interface control documents (ICDs), data point schedules and tagging structures. Support test planning and validation processes to ensure systems are interoperable, correctly connected and delivering accurate data. Cybersecurity & IT Coordination. Work directly with client-side IT teams to ensure integrations align with NIS2, GDPR and internal IT policy requirements. Define and implement firewall rules, VLAN segmentation and endpoint protection requirements across connected building systems. Ensure all connected systems follow secure design principles, including proper authentication, port management and change control. Delivery Support & Technical Assurance Act as the local technical lead during site-based activities, supporting contractor coordination, installation QA and commissioning planning. Participate in technical workshops, issue resolution meetings and progress updates providing clarity on integration risks, dependencies and decisions. Ensure structured documentation and quality assurance processes are applied through to project handover. Client Engagement & Collaboration. Represent FPC as the technical point of contact for system integration, engaging confidently with delivery contractors, FM teams and consultants. Help ensure integration milestones are met and that all systems are ready for operation, reporting and long-term maintenance. Support production of client-facing technical documents including network diagrams, system overviews and cyber compliance statements. Regional Development & Business Growth Allocate time outside the core project to support new opportunities across the region providing technical input for proposals, early-stage designs and stakeholder conversations. Help shape local delivery models, repeatable technical templates and IDL reference architectures based on lessons learned. Contribute to positioning FPC as a trusted technical partner in the region by participating in consultant and client discussions as needed. Identify emerging trends and opportunities in Germany’s smart building market and help develop services that align with client needs and regulatory changes.
