Yard Area Manager
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to lead yard operations, streamlining processes and improving customer experience. You will be responsible for managing yard activities in collaboration with multiple teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process improvement and excellent communication skills. Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies is highly desirable.
This role requires flexibility, including working varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead process improvements initiatives, leveraging data-driven decision making
* Manage yard operations, ensuring efficient processing and minimizing CX impact risks
* Partner with site leadership to enhance on-time performance, safety, and customer satisfaction metrics
* Coordinate communication between stakeholders to optimize truck flow in the yard
* Report yard performance, identify root causes of structural issues, and drive resolution with key stakeholders
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of experience at Amazon
* Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and intermediate knowledge of SQL or Access
* Experience with performance metrics, decision-making based on data, and leading process improvements
* Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
* Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
* Candidates must be adaptable and willing to work flexible hours as business demands dictate
* Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in one additional language (French, Polish, German, Italian, or Spanish) is preferred
