Role Overview:
The Business Unit Manager – Aerospace Commercial is a newly created role, coordinating cross-functional teams, designed to drive revenue growth, oversee product strategy, and ensure profitability for the Aerospace Commercial business unit. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong execution skills to lead and coordinate the activities across global sites while closely collaborating with sales, purchasing, and other key functions.
The Business Unit Manager will play a key role in aligning sales strategies, managing pricing, resolving operational challenges, and supporting the sales and marketing teams. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader capable of coordinating efforts across multiple teams and driving key projects to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:
* P&L Management & Business Growth – Drive revenue and profitability for the Aerospace Commercial Business Unit.
* Product & Pricing Strategy – Develop the product roadmap and optimize pricing for sustained market growth.
* Sales & Cross-Functional Coordination – Support internal and external sales and customer service teams, ensuring alignment on bids, contracts and other customer demands.
* Bid & Proposal Oversight – Approve pricing strategies and proposals within designated authority levels. Accountable for external sales team proposal generation.
* Budgeting, Forecasting, & Reporting – Target setting, variance monitoring, demand tracking, and KPI reporting to support business planning.
* Process Optimization & Issue Resolution – Work with operations and sales to remove bottlenecks and enhance efficiency.
* Key Project Execution – Ensure the successful completion of major projects.
Your profile:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
* Extensive professional experience in sales, business leadership, or commercial strategy.
* Proven strategic leadership in business unit, product, or sales management, with a strong track record of driving revenue and profitability.
* Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, align, and manage cross-functional teams.
* Experience managing customer and supplier relationships with a customer-focused mindset.
* Industry experience in aerospace preferred.
* Knowledge of EASA/FAA regulations is a plus but not mandatory.
* Proficiency in CRM software and ERP systems is preferred.
* Fluent in German & English.
