For our location in Berlin, we are looking for an employee for the operational purchasing department: Responsibilities: Procurement Involvement in all aspects of procurement, particularly the following: • Creating orders for the central warehouse, checking confirmations, updating the system and organizing the collection of materials. • Acceleration, replanning or cancellation of material deliveries depending on demand developments with the aim of continuously adapting inventory to demand. • Dealing with trucking companies on a daily basis to ensure materials are picked up on time and that deliveries arrive as expected. • Arrange for certificates of conformity to be available for all items prior to delivery • Work closely with planning department and warehouses to ensure material availability to meet ever-changing production schedule and customer requirements. • Maintain and manage non-stock order book as required. • Support in the introduction of new products and the replacement of existing products/materials. • Support with all other tasks within the purchasing department, such as: • ensure all relevant information is kept up to date in the computer system - including supplier details, cross-reference information and prices • Maintain integrity of purchasing/planning system as required. • Maintaining inventory at the required level and reporting on it. • Assist in processing all invoices as required. • Participate in the development and implementation of all purchasing and planning policies and procedures and in the continuous improvement of these policies and procedures Planning • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the planning model • Suggestions for improvement of the planning processes and support in the implementation of all agreed improvements • Manage and maintain all planning parameters within the computer system relating to finished products, intermediate products and raw materials • Regularly review and update safety stock and reorder points • Maintaining and updating the forecasting system • Assist with other tasks/roles in the planning department as required Job requirements Qualification: • Commercial professional qualification with further qualification in supply chain or bachelor's degree in supply chain • A certification in planning and inventory management (CPIM: Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) is an advantage • At least 2 years of experience in operational purchasing and working with SAP system at a manufacturing company • SAP experience is crucial • Good/excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook) and good numerical skills • Proactive and independent way of working with an excellent eye for details • High motivation, enthusiasm and initiative • As a team player, you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills • good negotiation skills • German fluency is required
