Regional Physical Security Manager

The Regional Security Manager for Tenneco is responsible for overseeing physical security operations within a regional geographic area. This role is one of 4 regional positions, reporting to the Executive Director of Global Security and it can be based anywhere in EMEA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts physical security planning, oversite, operations, and instruction to ensure the safety and security of Tenneco employees and facilities, in an international geographic regional security function, under the direction of the Executive Director of Global Security
Duty and responsibilities relating to physical security:
* Plans and makes recommends to management regarding the physical security systems and service requirements for all facilities within the region.
* Responsible for ensuring that all facilities within the region are in compliance with policies regarding perimeter fencing, lighting, CCTV’s, access control, fire alarms, burglar alarms, contract guard services, and other physical security systems.
* Responsible for the coordination, installation, upgrading, and conversion or servicing of alarm systems, access controls, video cameras, burglary, radio systems, and all other types of physical security equipment.
* Enforces and facilitates physical security system standards, policies, required upgrades, maintenance, and day-to-day management of all security systems through system integrators or internal resources.
* Directs external relationships to ensure the viability of all physical security systems, legacy and new, with the goal of minimal business disruption as the result of failed or improperly configured systems.
* Implements technology solutions aligned with corporate security strategy and budget guidelines.
* Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the state-of-the-art security equipment standards and technology encompassing all physical security products.
* Provides system solutions to specific security concerns identified through customer requests and security audits.
* Develops and maintains operational processes to ensure security standards.
* Develops and administers processes for audits for various access control systems.
* Acts as a primary contact for security system emergency issues.
* Provides product research, feasibility studies, project planning, tracking and quality assurance and overall vendor communication and management.
* Ensures that all physical security systems, equipment, and usage is in compliance with all local, state. And federal laws and regulations.
* Advises and assists in annual security systems budgeting process.
* Acts as the primary instructor for physical security training provided to the facilities management teams within the region.
* Assists facilities with the selection and supervision of on-site security representatives (contract guards) and ensures their actions comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets corporate and customer needs.
* Assists facilities with the implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, product tampering, espionage, sabotage, or loss within a regional geographic area.
* Monitors and reports noncompliance of security breaches to appropriate department heads.
* Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the state-of-the-art security equipment standards and technology encompassing all physical security products.
* Assists in the development of employee training and awareness programs and manages development campaigns.
* Coordinates the development, implementation, and documentation of corporate security program records.
* Assists security staff in providing expertise and procedural guidance to management and staff of operating units.
* Interacts with management and Human Resources staff in intervention procedures related to potential workplace violence cases.
* Identifies, provides technical expertise, evaluates content, and makes recommendations on incorporating all facets of corporate programs into the business operation.
* Identifies and develops resource requirements for corporate program goals and objectives.
* Manages and updates all travel restrictions relating to travel by Tenneco employees.
* Manages and updates all information contained on the Tenneco Global Security Intranet website.
* Maintain and manage electronic access control data to ensure secure and authorized access to facilities.
* Oversee visitor management systems to track and monitor all visitors effectively.
* Utilize incident monitoring software to detect, report, and respond to security incidents promptly.
* Manage and maintain camera systems to ensure continuous surveillance and recording of critical areas.
Duties and responsibilities relating to emergency preparedness:
* Assists with the maintenance of the Emergency Preparedness Plans. This includes assisting with drills and exercises, designing, developing, and maintaining emergency response facilities and equipment.
* Assists with emergency preparedness and conducts a wide range of complex facility and/or site Emergency Preparedness drills.
* Assists with the coordination between the facility and various state and local emergency management authorities.
* Assists with the planning and development of programs such as workplace violence, technical abuse, and organizational integrity, which encompass business and employee conduct, compliance, ethics, and privacy.
Duties and responsibilities relating to the protective services program for employees and executives:
* Assists with the protective services program for the Tenneco employees and executives within the regional geographic area of responsibility.
* Manages on and off-site planning, coordination, and execution of plans for visiting dignitaries within region.
* Assists with the planning and execution of major corporate events and visits by dignitaries and VIP guests of the organization to ensure a safe environment.
* Assists employees with travel plans consistent with the Tenneco Safe Travel Policies.
Duties and responsibilities relating to the investigations:
* Assists and conducts complex investigations of alleged or suspected violations of laws and regulations concerning criminal and general investigations, fraud, computer crimes, major policy violations, and provides technical investigative services.
* Determines investigative strategy, interviews personnel and vendors, interrogates suspects for admissions, documents investigations with evidence so criminal and/or civil procedures are facilitated.
* Evaluates and applies in-depth knowledge to establish standards of investigative efforts required, scope, and depth of fact finding needed, proper use of investigative techniques and conclusions of investigations.
* Maintains expert knowledge of specific requirements imposed by government agencies that regulate investigative activities with the region.
* Establishes links between suspects and other violators by piecing together evidence uncovered from a variety of sources.
* Renders sworn testimony before grand juries, courts, and/or administrative hearings when required.
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Law, Computer Science, or related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in security management or similar roles.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (strong background in data collection & analysis is a must have) to drive fact-based decision making.
* In-depth experience with world-class physical security management practices.
* Self-confidence and clarity of expression to lead discussions with internal executive audiences, and challenge current practices.
* Hands-on experience leading multi-regional or global initiatives.
* Proficient in relevant security related software systems.
* Experience managing complex physical security improvement projects, especially professional services involving the instillation of CCTV, access control, fire alarm, and burglar alarm systems.
* Track record of managing change through influence; capable of driving major commercial decisions across a diverse set of internal stakeholders.
