Your Contribution
As Group Insurance & Risk Manager (m/f/d), you hold overall responsibility for the strategic orientation, further development, and operational management of the global liability and financial lines insurance program of the MAHLE Group. You actively shape an integrated risk management approach, optimize insurance solutions worldwide, and act as the technical lead for all topics related to industrial liability insurance.
Your main tasks include:
1. Leading the Group Insurance team for the lines of General and Product Liability including Environmental Liability and Environmental Damage, Motor Vehicle Recall Liability, D&O, Cyber, and Fidelity Insurance
2. Identifying, assessing, and documenting the global liability risks of the MAHLE Group
3. Ensuring optimal risk transfer to the insurance market within an integrated risk‑management framework
4. Leading annual renewal negotiations and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
5. Designing and conducting events such as the “MAHLE Insurance Day” to kick off the annual renewals
6. Advising business units on the prevention of liability risks and supporting contract reviews
7. Managing and handling insurance claims
8. Conducting insurance due diligence activities within M&A projects
9. Preparing the insurance budget and the group‑wide premium allocation
10. Managing internal recharging processes within the Group
11. Steering and coordinating international broker networks
12. Technical responsibility in particular for General/Product Liability including environmental coverage, extended product liability, as well as Motor Vehicle Recall Liability
Your Experience and Qualifications
13. Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, ideally with a focus on insurance, or a completed law degree
14. Several years of professional experience in the insurance sector with a focus on international industrial liability insurance, ideally in the automotive environment
15. Experience in internationally structured, multi‑layered liability programs
16. Ideally, in‑depth knowledge in designing and negotiating insurance terms within the automotive supplier model
17. Initial leadership experience as well as knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management is desirable
18. Strong initiative, high level of commitment, and strong teamwork skills
19. Very good knowledge of MS Office 365 and strong IT affinity
20. Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken
