We will make sure to give you the proper introduction. Once you are up and running, you will be tasked with ensuring that your projects/services move in the right direction and that we deliver high quality, profitable projects/services on time. You will typically manage numerous projects and services simultaneously.
What the Ground Systems Business Development Director does:
You will be responsible for managing the Sales and Ground Systems Business activities with a focus on projects (commercial and institutional), and where relevant, leveraging our own TGSS product suite. This includes Space/Mission Control Systems, Test Systems and advanced simulation systems.

Driving business growth by identifying opportunities, tracking new markets, and building sustainable client relationships, developing new strategies that are crucial for expanding Terma presence within the Space Industry.
The Key person shall have:
A strong understanding of the company´s products and services as well as our business position and competition, to keep business relevant and up to date, improving Terma's footprint in the space services area.
Tasks:
After an initial phase-in period to acquire an in-depth knowledge within Terma Group activities, your tasks for supporting the Ground Systems Business Development area will mainly include, but not limited to:
* Identification of necessary evolutions for current business.
* Identification of new business areas (sales leads) – new markets, growth areas, trends, etc.
* Maintain current client relationship and identifying areas for new potential clients.
* Develop new sales areas and improving sales through various methods.
* Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate with management, sales, and recruitment team to ensure requirements are met, such as service and project increase and profit goals.
* Bid management and all pre and post activities (bid strategy, tactics, etc.)
* Assisting in recruitment and working closely with Terma´s Talent acquisitions team.
* Support to technical meetings, progress, and team meetings.
Qualifications & Competencies
Basic Qualifications:
* At least 15 years' years of industry experience that includes developing business strategies in an international environment.
* Understanding of Space missions, technologies, and customers, both in the aera of Spacecraft Operations and Spacecraft Testing and the whole mission life cycle
* Experience in proposal preparation and negotiation; experience working with Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Teaming Agreements, Statements of Work (SOW), Contract Deliverables, Intellectual Property, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs) and/or contracting activities.
* Experience executing pursuit, capture and proposal activities.
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or related field.
* Master's degree in a related field can be advantageous.
* Excellent Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory.

* Ability to work independently and in a team.

Desirable:
* Knowledge of Mission Control Systems, Space Systems and Test Systems is highly desirable.
* Engineering background, especially software.
* Customer Interface experience.
* (NATO) Security Clearance
* General Understanding of Space Situational Awareness and the European or Global Defense Industry
