Onshore / Offshore HSE Advisor
Location: Northern Germany (onshore and offshore assignments)
Contract Duration: April 2026 – December 2026
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, with offshore rotations.
Spencer Ogden is supporting a major offshore wind project in the recruitment of an experienced Onshore / Offshore HSE Advisor. This role will provide critical health, safety, and environmental support across both pre-assembly and offshore installation activities.
The successful candidate will work closely with construction teams, contractors, and HSE leadership to ensure the highest standards of safety are implemented and maintained across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide HSE support across onshore pre-assembly and offshore installation/commissioning activities
* Conduct regular site and vessel inspections, identifying risks and driving continuous improvement
* Collaborate proactively with Tier 1 contractors, vessel operators, and site teams
* Support and participate in incident investigations and follow-up actions
* Review contractor documentation, methodologies, and risk assessments from an HSE perspective
* Engage with stakeholders both in person and remotely to promote best practice
* Support behavioural safety initiatives, campaigns, and cultural improvement programmes
* Deliver HSE guidance and mentoring to site personnel and contractor teams
* Monitor progress and report on HSE performance across work scopes
Requirements
* Strong experience in offshore wind construction, pre-assembly, and marine operations
* Solid understanding of WTG installation and commissioning, including heavy lifting and HV/LV systems
* Proven ability to review and challenge contractor HSE documentation and methodologies
* Experience influencing diverse teams across multiple cultures and locations
* Demonstrated ability to drive safety culture improvements and behavioural change
* Experience working with senior stakeholders within contractor organisations
* Ability to develop and review risk assessments for site activities
* Strong communication skills, including delivering presentations and safety campaigns
* Comfortable working both on-site and remotely within a distributed project environment
* Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload independently

* GWO (Global Wind Organisation)
* Offshore Medical
* HUET
* GWO Enhanced First Aid
* Working at Height (valid within 12 months)
* Electrical awareness (e.g. authorised/instructed person level)
Additional Information
* Offshore work will be required
* Regular site visits across onshore and offshore locations
* PPE, IT equipment, and mobile phone will be provided
