Your tasks
1. Contributing scientifically to the BMD project, specifically through developing VREs and identifying available biodiversity and environmental data resources relevant for VREs
2. Attending virtual and physical project meetings
3. Managing big biodiversity datasets, including quality assurance/quality control and methods for automation
4. Analyzing spatial and temporal biodiversity data, and accompanied environmental data, to elucidate spatial patterns and temporal trends in taxonomic and functional diversity and drivers thereof
5. Preparing project reports and scientific manuscripts
6. Mentoring graduate students
7. Giving oral presentations at national and international conferences
Your profile
8. PhD in Ecology or a related field
9. Solid background in (macro-) ecology and biodiversity research. Solid background in zoology preferred but not essential.
10. Advanced skills in statistical analyses, using R
11. Project management and report writing
12. Strong track record of international scientific publications
13. Excellent written and oral communication and project presentation skills in English
