Postdoctoral Programme OFFICER – EIPOD Grade 5 Duty Station: Start date: October 1st, 2025 Training the next generation of scientists is a core mission of the EMBL. EICAT’s Internal Scientific Training team coordinates EMBL’s Predoctoral and Postdoctoral programmes, which host around 500 fellows at any given time. Both programmes leverage EMBL’s interdisciplinary and dynamic scientific environment and, together with the EMBL Fellows’ Career Service and the Complementary Scientific Skills programme, provide world-class training and career development for our fellows. We are seeking a Programme Officer to support the implementation of the EC-funded EIPOD-LinC programme (grant currently in grant agreement preparation phase), which aims to recruit and train up to 57 postdoctoral researchers. EIPOD-LinC offers early-career scientists the opportunity to develop interdisciplinary research projects aligned with the overarching theme of “exploring life in context”. Fellows also follow a structured, evidence-based training programme designed to build research and leadership skills applicable across sectors. You will be part of the Fellowship Programmes team, which manages the Ph.D. and Postdoctoral Programmes. In this role, you will run the day-to-day operations of EIPOD-LinC, contribute to programme development, and deliver recruitment, training and outreach activities in close coordination with the EIPOD-LinC Programme leadership. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Coordinate the implementation of the programme under the guidance of Fellowship Programmes Lead Organise the programme selection rounds and programme-related meetings/events. Serve as the main contact point for internal and external stakeholders, fellows, group leaders, partner organisations, industry contacts, the project coordinator, external evaluators, and the Steering Committee and Advisory Board. Prepare and circulate programme materials, updates, and collect feedback. Organise and document meetings, maintain records, and prepare presentations. Coordinate training activities, including on-site courses, webinars, and travel logistics for fellows and trainers Manage and update the programme website Provide support to fellows and supervisors on all programme-related matters (e.g. secondments, training, supervision, monitoring progress, collecting feedback). Promote the programme at relevant events and meetings Report regularly to the EC and prepare the project’s deliverables in accordance with the grant agreement. Contribute to other postdoctoral programme activities as needed. You have A doctoral degree in the life sciences or other STEM fields and experience in scientific or research programme management A strong understanding of operational processes and an interest in strategic programme development. Broad scientific background and interest Proven ability to work independently and proactively in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and high service orientation Strong communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
