Role Overview
The Investment Associate will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing growth equity investments, with a focus on small and mid-cap opportunities. The successful candidate will work closely with senior team members on all aspects of the investment process, including deal origination, due diligence, financial modelling, investment committee preparation, and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct market research and thematic analysis to identify attractive growth investment opportunities in Europe.
* Build detailed financial models, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
* Support end-to-end transaction processes, including due diligence, valuation, and structuring.
* Draft investment memoranda and present findings to the investment committee.
* Monitor portfolio companies, tracking performance, KPIs, and value creation initiatives.
* Assist in sourcing new opportunities through proactive outreach and maintaining industry networks.
* Contribute to strategic projects, fundraising activities, and internal process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
* 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, or management consulting.
* Strong academic background in finance, economics, or a related field; advanced degree or CFA a plus.
* Demonstrated analytical and financial modelling skills with keen attention to detail.
* Proven ability to evaluate business models, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
* Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset, ability to work in a lean team environment.
* Fluency in English required; German language skills strongly preferred.
* Genuine interest in growth investing and supporting entrepreneurs.
