The Applied Machine Learning (AML) group within the Artificial Intelligence Department is seeking a scientist in the field of Machine Learning to strengthen its research activities in the areas of foundation models, large language models, and multimodal ML models—particularly in the context of research and development of new solutions for applications in medicine and weather. The AML research group continuously explores and develops innovative solutions that are used in current and future key research topics. Development of new machine learning methods, particularly in the field of multimodal machine learning
Writing scientific publications and supervising students
Participation in exciting projects with external partners and clients
Presentation of results at trade fairs, project meetings, and other events
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Excellent programming skills in Python and extensive experience with common AI frameworks and libraries
through projects or publications) in at least one of the following areas: Multimodal Machine Learning, Foundation Models, Large Language Models, or Reasoning Models
Experience and confidence in using Python, Linux (Ubuntu), and Git via the terminal
