We are seeking an experienced Team Manager Payroll to take ownership of our payroll operations across Germany and the broader EMEA region. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact function in a truly international environment. You will not only manage the largest payroll (Germany) but also oversee payroll for approximately 10 EMEA countries, drive global payroll process improvements, and act as the key liaison for our global payroll provider. Responsibilities:
* Lead German Payroll Operations: Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for Germany as the primary focus.
* Manage EMEA Payroll: Oversee payroll for multiple countries in the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with local tax and labor regulations.
* Global Process Leadership: Drive payroll process improvements and automation initiatives globally, setting standards for efficiency and accuracy.
* Provider Management: Act as the responsible manager for our global payroll provider and collaborate with payroll teams worldwide.
* Compliance & Reporting: Handle audits, reconciliations, and reporting, proactively addressing discrepancies and ensuring adherence to regulations.
* Global Mobility Expertise: Manage payroll topics for international assignments, including shadow payrolls.
* Benefits Administration: Support payroll-related benefits activities, including bonuses, share-based compensation, and other employee benefits.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR and Finance to optimize payroll operations and ensure seamless integration with compensation and benefits.
* Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, and develop your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
* Strategic Contribution: Bring creative ideas and energy to keep our payroll function ahead of industry trends and best practices.
Requirements:
* Degree in Business Administration, HR, Finance, or a related field.
* Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a senior / leadership role.
* Proven expertise in German payroll; experience with other EMEA countries is a strong plus.
* Solid understanding of payroll regulations, taxation, and compliance.
* Proficiency in payroll systems (SAP experience is a plus).
* Advanced Excel skills for handling complex data and reporting.
* Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
* Fluency in German and English is mandatory.
