Embedded QT Software Engineer | Hybrid | Stuttgart
We are currently seeking a Qt Developer (m/f/d) for a long-term engagement with a leading innovator in secure communications and signal intelligence solutions. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge radio and communication systems used in defence applications technology where reliability, performance, and precision are critical.
The Role:
You will play a key part in maintaining and enhancing user interfaces for advanced radio devices (SVFuA/SDTR), contributing to all aspects of the development cycle from analysing change requirements to implementation, testing, and refining user interface test cases. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to drive innovation in embedded GUI applications, all within a structured and supportive environment.
You’ll Be Responsible For:
* Developing and maintaining intuitive, high-performance embedded GUIs using Qt (4.8–5.x)
* Implementing design improvements and coordinating change requirements
* Designing and executing test specifications for new features
* Expanding automated GUI test cases using tools such as Squish
* Supporting robust build and deployment pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, and Artifactory
Position Overview
* Location: Stuttgart, Germany
* Start Date: July 1, 2025
* Contract Duration: Initially until June 30, 2026 (up to 24 months ANU/AUG contract)
* Working Hours: 35–40 hours per week
* Remote Work: Up to 60% remote possible after onboarding
* Security Clearance: No Ü2 required; NfD briefing necessary
* Languages Required:
* German – Negotiation fluent
* English – Advanced proficiency
Your Experience Should Include:
* Strong proficiency in modern C++ and object-oriented design
* Embedded GUI development using Qt
* Experience with embedded Linux systems (e.g., Yocto, Buildroot)
* Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Squish (or equivalent), RTC, and cmake
* Python scripting and cross-platform GUI application development
* Understanding of software architecture and modelling
* Comfortable working in both Linux and Windows environments
