The Cell Therapy Territory Operations Manager (TOM) / Regional Cell Therapy Operations Lead (m/f/d) is a regional expert supporting Patient Operations and project teams in cell therapy. As a senior technical leader, the role sets and implements compliant policies and standards for treatment centers, partners with Regional Operations Directors (RODs) on site strategy, leads research and internal reporting, and maintains up-to-date best practices.

The role expands AZ’s cell therapy footprint in oncology by building patient-centered service lines and leading complex engagements with site leadership and frontline providers. It delivers operational and clinical guidance for trials and commercial products, leads site activation, and provides ongoing operational, quality, and clinical oversight post-activation. The TOM is a field, regional role reporting to a Regional Operations Director (ROD).

Cell Therapy Territory Operations Manager / Regional Cell Therapy Operations Lead (m/f/d)

Your Impactful Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

1. Drive initiatives across clinical and commercial cell therapy from development through post-market.

2. Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) influencing strategy, governance, and cross-functional execution at local and multi-country levels.

3. Partner with internal teams (Program Management, QA, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Compliance, Sales/Marketing).

Site Engagement & Service Lines

4. Build and maintain strong relationships with treatment centers and external partners (PIs, physicians, nursing, apheresis, cell therapy labs).

5. Establish patient-centered service lines and operational standards.

Operational Excellence

6. Ensure compliance with regulatory/accreditation standards (, FACT); maintain audit readiness.

7. Oversee raw material collection, product receipt/storage/distribution/infusion, and COI/COC processes.

8. Lead site activation using risk-based tools for certification, training, and monitoring.

9. Respond to SOP deviations and manage quality records (Deviations, CAPA, Change Control).

Training & Workflow Development

10. Design and deliver training for HCPs (PIs, MDs, nursing, apheresis, lab staff).

11. Lead cross-functional meetings to develop patient/product workflows for trials and commercial products.

Collaboration & Logistics

12. Act as primary liaison for operational readiness; align logistics with Supply Chain.

13. Manage regional account changes and site logistics with Cell Therapy Hub.

14. Provide exemplary customer service and foster strong business relationships.

Travel: Up to 50%.

Your Profile

You bring a strong foundation in cell therapy operations and leadership, with the ability to influence strategy and deliver complex projects across multiple stakeholders. Specifically:

15. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant, or MD or equivalent.

16. 8+ years in cell therapy with progressive leadership roles.

17. Deep knowledge of cell therapy standards, regulations, and workflows.

18. Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

19. Experience managing external providers and contracts.

20. Advanced scientific degree or certifications (, PMP, CPHQ).

21. Broad understanding of patient operations, manufacturing interfaces, quality, regulatory, and market access.

22. Experience across academic and sponsor settings, including multi-country operations.

23. Exposure to early-phase delivery and multiple therapeutic areas.

24. Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce.

25. Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
