As a Staff Software Engineer, you will join the Pay Connect group, working within the Money domain. Everything from base salary and hourly pay to bonuses, equity, and benefits flows through this part of the platform. The systems built in this area power both Personio’s compensation management features and the data that ultimately feeds into payroll.
This role will play a key part in evolving how compensation is modeled, scaled, and integrated across the platform as Personio continues to expand into global payroll and new compensation models.
Build and evolve systems that manage compensation data across Personio
Develop capabilities supporting different compensation types such as salary, bonuses, benefits, and equity
Collaborate closely with product teams to translate complex compensation requirements into scalable systems
Improve data correctness, reliability, and performance across critical payroll inputs
Contribute hands-on to the codebase, spending roughly 50% of your time coding
Experience working with complex domain models and high-accuracy data systems
Strong hands-on coding ability alongside technical leadership
Experience working on financial, payroll, or compensation systems
Experience designing systems where data correctness and accuracy are critical
Compensation data is one of the core inputs into payroll, alongside time tracking and employee data. As Personio expands its payroll capabilities globally, the systems built in this domain are becoming increasingly critical to the company’s strategy.
The remaining days can be worked from home, plus 20 Flex Days per year to work remotely from other locations.
