We're seeking a hands-on Chief Sales Officer (CSO) who can lead our go-to-market and sales strategy, become a co-managing director (Geschäftsführer) with the option to grow into the future CEO of the company.
The Opportunity
As CSO, you’ll build up our sales and business development efforts – leveraging the business development work done to refine and execute the go-to-market strategy and ramp up commercial traction.
From day one, you will engage directly with potential customers and partners – including through outbound and cold outreach. You will also help shape the positioning, messaging, and commercial roadmap of ROONIQ. You’ll play a hands-on role in driving revenue, refining our customer acquisition strategy, and building a high- performing sales organization from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape the commercial future of a SaaS business that has the potential to scale very fast, combined with a clear executive leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
● Sales Leadership & Strategy
o Own and drive the company’s global go-to-market strategy across all customer tiers (MVP, SME,
Enterprise)
o Develop and execute short- and long-term commercial plans, balancing sales, business
development, and strategic partnerships.
o Design scalable sales playbooks and onboarding flows for rapid client activation
o Develop a sales organization and customer support operations
o Personally identify and approach potential customers, partners – and, where applicable, explore
talent acquisition opportunities by screening commercial staff at relevant competitors.
o Build and lead a high-performance sales organization starting with a junior sales hire in Year 1
o Mentor and develop future sales leaders, ensuring culture, process, and performance alignment
o Develop and close strategic Enterprise partnerships that drive high-margin, recurring revenue
o Work closely with product and customer success teams to ensure a strong value delivery loop for
key accounts
o Track, analyse, and improve CAC and revenue
o Implement tools and automation to support data-driven sales performance
o Collaborate with marketing to build brand equity, generate leads, and support product
What We're Looking For
● 4+ years of progressive experience in SaaS sales, including experience in a senior sales leadership role
● Proven track record of building and scaling B2B sales organizations, especially in early-stage or growth-phase companies
● Experience in business development or sales roles in early-stage tech/startup environments.
● Entrepreneurial approach with a hands-on attitude; eager to build something from scratch rather than manage existing structures.
● Strong outbound and partnership sales capabilities, including cold outreach
● Data- and process-driven mindset with strong commercial instincts
● Exceptional communication and leadership skills
● Fluent in English and German
● Bonus: International experience or additional multilingual capability
Compensation & Incentives
Compensation will reflect the early-stage and high-impact nature of the role, including meaningful equity participation. A performance-based incentive structure (bonus/commission) will be aligned with key milestones and revenue goals. Market-aligned expectations will be discussed transparently with final candidates.
