About Our Client
Our client is a major international construction company with a strong reputation for delivering complex, high-value projects across Europe. Specialising in industrial builds and mission-critical data centres, they are known for their technical excellence, innovation, and collaborative approach. Due to continued expansion in the German market, they are seeking a Senior Design Manager to join their team in Düsseldorf.
Role Overview
As Senior Design Manager, you will take a lead role in managing the design process across large-scale industrial and data centre projects. You will coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, ensure design quality and compliance, and drive efficient project delivery from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the full design process across multiple projects or large complex schemes
* Coordinate internal and external design teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants
* Ensure all design outputs meet client requirements, technical standards, and regulatory compliance
* Drive design programmes to align with project timelines and construction schedules
* Review and manage design deliverables, identifying risks and implementing solutions
* Work closely with project management, commercial, and site teams to ensure seamless integration
* Manage design change processes and value engineering initiatives
* Support client engagement, presentations, and technical discussions
Requirements
* Proven experience in a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager role within construction
* Strong background in industrial, pharmaceutical, logistics, or data centre projects
* Excellent understanding of design management processes across all project stages
* Experience working with multidisciplinary teams on complex builds
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Familiarity with German construction standards and regulations is advantageous
* Degree qualified in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline
