YOUR TEAM
Within the T1 domain (Connect & Cloud) you will be part of building, maintaining and operating world-class connected features from the vehicle up to the backend API. Having you in our team, you will unfold expertise in vehicle connectivity, mobile online services, cloud platforms or data platforms. We are looking for an experienced leader to drive the advancement and professionalization of our Software Engineering across all Connected Vehicle Services products. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our software teams and leading them toward innovative, scalable, and future-ready mobility solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Define and implement a holistic software integration strategy for Connected Vehicle Services, enabling seamless end-to-end interaction between in-vehicle software modules, backend services, mobile apps, and cloud platforms across the entire development toolchain.
* Lead the evolution of software integration frameworks and platforms, focusing on modularity,
scalability, service orchestration, and API consistency across distributed vehicle and cloud systems.
* Drive the optimization of software development processes and platform architectures especially in the context of modular E/E-Plattformen like E³ 1.2 to support the efficient delivery and lifecycle management of connected features,, leveraging modern DevOps practices, microservices, and cloud-native technologies.
* Oversee all software-related integration activities within the Connected Vehicle Services domain, coordinating across internal development teams, system architects, platform owners, and external technology partners.
* Steer the agile delivery of connected software services, using methods such as Scrum or SAFe to support rapid iteration, cross-team alignment, and continuous value delivery to end users.
* Manage and develop a high-performing software integration team, ensuring effective resource allocation, clear ownership structures, and continuous technical upskilling in areas such as vehicle APIs, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and service-driven software architectures.
WHO YOU ARE
* Successfully completed studies in the field of computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics or comparable studies
* More than 10 years of professional experience in automotive related connectivity platforms or digital service environments
* At least 7 years of experience in disciplinary leadership and/or Volkswagen leadership license
* Experience with software integration architectures, cloud-based toolchains and data platforms for real-time analytics and vehicle data collection, or platform enablement in the automotive, mobility, or embedded systems domain - ideally involving over-the-air updates, data services, or vehicle-backend communication.
* Proven ability to define and implement forward-looking integration strategies for connected vehicle ecosystems, with a strong emphasis on scalability, modularity, and service evolution.
* Demonstrated experience in leading international, cross-functional software teams across multiple locations and time zones, fostering alignment between in-vehicle and off-board development streams.
* Strong track record of enabling collaboration and delivering business impact in complex, matrixed organizations, especially at the intersection of software, digital platforms, and automotive domains.
* Oversee budget planning and management for vehicle services initiatives, ensuring financial efficiency and alignment with business priorities.
* Communicate effectively at C-level and across executive committees, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and stakeholder expectations. Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills across technical, operational, and leadership levels.
