We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Essen. In this role, you will ensure that our laboratory, workshops, and shared spaces are kept clean, safe, and well-organized — enabling our researchers and engineers to focus on developing solutions for a carbon-free future. How you'll contribute You will support our team with a variety of practical and organizational tasks, including: Handling laundry of lab coats and other textiles Tidying and organizing the changing area Collecting, cleaning, and storing visitor safety glasses Loading and unloading laboratory and kitchen dishwashers Organizing and storing clean laboratory glassware Emptying and cleaning sample jars and drip trays Cleaning Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) Emptying trash cans and disposing of trash bags Replacing the deionized water cartridge Tidying up work areas and sorting parts in the upstairs warehouse Supporting logistics, such as disposing of waste in the Stäubli hall containers Assisting with company events, e.g., townhall and team event clean-up About you You are reliable, hands-on, and enjoy practical work You are organized and detail-oriented in keeping spaces tidy and safe You have good handcrafting or manual skills, and enjoy working with tools and materials You are comfortable working independently as well as part of a team You can communicate fluently in either German or English Previous experience in facility support, lab assistance, housekeeping, or craftsmanship is a plus What we offer A supportive and friendly team environment The chance to contribute to our mission of freeing the world from fossil fuels — by keeping our labs and operations running efficiently Noteworthy points This role cannot be done fully remotely.
