You must have a record of exceeding a €3MM annual quota and at least 2 years of >30% annual growth selling high quality, premium priced industrial MRO components directly to food and pharma manufacturers, to OEM machine builders, and through industrial distributors.
We are looking for someone who loves working with precision-engineered industrial products and manufacturing, but wants more challenge and excitement in your career. The German RSM will live and sell in Germany, reporting to a German manager who is based at our factory in Beckum which is a subsidiary of a rapid growth American company.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience working in a technical field involving fluids, bulk materials or ingredients. You may have sold machines with integral pump or fluid movement, or sold related products to manufacturers in the meat and poultry, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and confection industries.
We’re looking for a candidate who tracks their sales activities, not their hours worked. The right person will be someone who understands that personal development and business success only result from pushing beyond what’s comfortable - even when nobody’s watching. You love winning. You hate losing. And the commissions you earn, and the satisfaction you feel helping your customers improve their businesses are your measures of success.
You will expect to travel ≈80% of the time and have experience selling through the entire customer lifecycle, from project creation and advising on specifications, through closing deals, to ongoing additional sales to existing customers.
You should have demonstrated expertise in consultative sales, building relationships, selling value, and building accounts and a territory. Our products are premium-priced and competition is stiff, so you’ll have sold in similar circumstances with a 3-6 month sell cycle.
You will excel at finding new customers. You will prospect and close 3-5 new customers/month relying on both your superb engineering skills, strong business acumen and an understanding of business operations and procurement, including multi-departmental buying teams, and superb sales skills.
Your written and verbal communication will be as strong as your technical skills, and you’ll be equally effective selling to managing directors, engineering and maintenance managers, and procurement teams. You must be equally comfortable discussing process flow with production and process engineers, technical details with maintenance leaders, and operational considerations with management.
Compensation
We offer a base of €70-90K depending on experience, quarterly, and uncapped annual bonus based on sales performance. OTE for a strong sales rep is ≈ €125K. We offer standard benefits and allowances.
