Procurement and Commercial Manager (Technical Projects)

What you will do
Procurement and cost leadership
* You will compare supplier quotations, negotiate conditions and build relationships with manufacturers.
* You will proactively search for new suppliers and alternatives when needed.
* You will monitor material needs and decide when to order, balancing cost and timing.
* You will analyse costs, delivery risks and long-lead items together with engineering.
* You will maintain clean procurement data to support future ERP integration.
Commercial project support
* You will prepare and validate cost calculations for offers.
* You will translate technical inputs into commercial consequences and clear numbers.
* You will track project margins, payment plans and cost deviations.
* You will support project managers on purchasing plans, commercial decisions and supplier coordination.
* You will make decisions within your responsibility level and escalate appropriately.
Financial awareness and budgeting
* You will support budgeting cycles and internal cost planning.
* You will prepare simple cashflow overviews and financial summaries for management.
* You will coordinate with external accounting partners for documentation and reporting.
* You will help build financial transparency around project and procurement decisions.
Process structure and ERP readiness

What you should bring
Background
Degree or vocational training in industrial engineering, technical business administration, finance with technical exposure, supply chain management or a related field.
Experience
Two to six years of experience in procurement, commercial operations, project controlling, cost engineering or offer calculation in a technical environment (such as machinery, automotive, energy, EPC or industrial equipment).
Skills and expectations
* Strong numerical understanding and commercial judgment.
* Comfortable working with engineers and asking clear, constructive questions.
* Proactive mindset with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
* Ability to handle multiple topics at once and communicate clearly with colleagues and suppliers.
* Understanding of how company finances operate: costs, cashflow, timing and risk.
* Respect for organisational structures and decision levels.
* Interest in growing into a broader commercial or coordinating role.
Language
* Confident German at C1 or native level for professional communication with suppliers, partners and authorities. (A MUST)
* Good English for international coordination.
* Candidates without strong German fluency cannot be considered for this role because daily work requires continuous communication in German-speaking environments.
