KG Organization EVP Global Functions Business Unit Project Entity Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day As the Head of the commissioning team for Communications and Network Systems, you will lead a team of commissioning engineers who are deployed on projects worldwide. By commissioning the Siemens Energy Grid Technologie scope on large scale projects, world class HVDC Systems, Power Transmission Systems, Grid Stabilizing Systems, your group actively contributes to the energy transition. Your daily work will be on interaction with your employees on site and on the test fields worldwide. The coordination of next assignments with your employee, resource manager and HUB manager will also be a part of your job. As there is a high demand of new employees you may also do interviews and after that support onboarding. As training and development is an integral part of our organization, you will also drive this topic with your team. You drive process improvements, cost-out initiatives, and risk mitigation, while maintaining close alignment with customer needs and business objectives.How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Management, strategic development and resource planning of your international team of HVDC commissioning engineers for worldwide activities
2. Maintain availability and structure of Commissioning team, as required to deliver business project pipeline and ambitious business ramp-up strategy. Plan headcount and recruit staff. Secure temporary labor availability by working with external suppliers
3. Responsibility, development, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives as part of commissioning activities
4. Monitoring the performance of commissioning engineers in terms of time, cost, and quality objectives of the projects
5. Ensuring work systems, strengthening safety awareness and implementing our Zero Harm principles in collaboration with project management, site management and department management
6. Encouraging and empowering your team members by exemplifying feedback culture and SE leadership principles
7. Development and promotion of commissioning engineers according to their strengths and development opportunities
What You Bring
8. Completed studies in the field of electrical engineering, energy technology or comparable training/qualification
9. Professional experience in the field of commissioning or engineering of large-scale international projects
10. Experience in leading and developing international teams
11. Experience in the field of HVDC systems (control, regulation, measurement, protection and communication systems) is an advantage.
12. Proficient handling of resource planning, planning tools and processes
13. Ability to work in a team, precise work, a high degree of initiative and flexibility as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
14. Business fluent in English (spoken and written) – knowledge of German desirable
