KG Organization Gas Services Business Unit Central Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for Auxiliary Systems (Fluid Systems) of our Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, and Generators, you will be supporting Siemens Energies growing Power Plant Project Business and be a part of our global Supply Chain network. You are responsible to secure the best performing supply base in quality, reliability, and safety and work closely with Procurement and Engineering functions in a multicultural environment. The suppliers in your scope will be the Mechanical Auxiliary Systems suppliers in Europe supplying for projects worldwide. Typical equipment in scope includes turbine air inlet, exhaust duct, expansion joint, enclosures, exhaust stack, heat exchangers, and other large, welded steel fabrications.How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Supplier Monitoring: Perform supplier oversight and product inspections for regular project execution to ensure compliance with specification. Inspection types include visual, dimensional, weld, coating, pressure, traceability, quality records.
2. Supplier Qualification and Development: Perform routine audits according to supplier risk categorization and audit program. Support supplier evaluation and commodity strategy definition. Implement supplier quality improvement programs or risk mitigation measures.
3. Nonconformance Management: Identify and initiate containment on any identified non-conformances. Follow-up with corrective and preventive action as necessary.
4. Digitalization & Process Excellence: Utilize the various Supplier Quality & Development tools and databases. to create process transparency or periodically generate supplier quality performance reports. Your ideas on how to evolve our corporate digitalization landscape, for example by leveraging agentic AI, are highly welcome.
What You Bring
5. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, industrial engineering, or a similar discipline. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
6. Multiyear professional experience in supplier quality management, quality management, engineering or another related technical role in the Power Generation Industry or comparable industry related to the equipment scope mentioned above.
7. Knowledge and experience in auditing. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
8. Knowledge in the application of quality methods such as 5 Why, FMEA, 8D, RCA.
9. Familiarity with the following technologies & standards (or equivalents) are an advantage:
- Design of steel fabrications (AISC 360, EN 1090‑2, ASME VIII,, PED, API 661)
- Welding (AISC 360, AWS, ASME IX, ISO 3834, ISO 15614, ISO 5817, ISO 9606)
- Coating & surface preparation (SSPC, ISO 12944, ISO 8501, ISO 8502)
- Inspection methods (Visual Inspection, Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic Testing, Radiographic Testing)
- Material cleaning & preservation (ASTM A380M)
- Certifications in respective technology fields (NDT Level II or III, AMPP/ NACE CIP, FROSIO, AWS CWI/ SCWI, CSWIP, IWE, AWS CWEng)
10. Willingness to travel as required for the role (approximately 35%) as well as strong communication skills in English.
